Binance going to partner with MDI Ventures – the investment arm of Telkom Indonesia, the largest telecommunications group in Indonesia – to establish a cryptocurrency exchange in the country.

In a December 15 press release, Binance CEO – CZ said:
“Our ambition is to grow the blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystem globally. This development in Indonesia is an important step forward in this ambition.”
He added:
“With rapid technology adoption and strong economic potential, Indonesia can become one of the leading centers of blockchain and cryptocurrency ecosystems in Southeast Asia.”
In partnership with Telkom Indonesia, Binance can reach over 170 million users in the world’s fourth most populous country.
Binance said it will provide the infrastructure and asset management technology to support the development of the new exchange.
Last week, Binance’s branch in Singapore invested in Hg Exchange (HGX), a private equity exchange in the region. The deal gives Binance an 18% stake in HGX. HGX is an exchange that was licensed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore earlier this year.
