Change eToro account information

The correct account information will help you to trade conveniently. Do you enter the wrong information or want to change your eToro account information?

This article will describe the information you can change / not change for your eToro account and how to change your eToro account information.

Information cannot be changed

eToro does not offer the functionality to change your username. 

  • However, you can request to close your current account and open a new one with a new username and a different email address.
  • Please note that you will lose all of your current trading history and statistics by doing so. You will need to build your portfolio from the start and provide any requested identification documentation.

Information can be changed, but eToro does it from your request

1. Here is that information:

  • Date of birth
  • Name
  • Address
  • Social Security Number / Personal Tax Number

2. How to open a support ticket for information change

Please open a case in our Customer Service Center to change the information. How to open a detailed support ticket, see here.

eToro will ask you to provide proof of the information you want to change.

E.g., To change your postal address, please open a case in our Customer Service Center and attach an up-to-date proof of address.

Suppose you contact eToro via our Customer Service Center to change your account details. In that case, eToro may need to call you and ask some security questions, so please provide your phone number and specify a convenient time frame in which to receive a call. eToro Customer Service team will be happy to assist you.

2. How to change the registered email address

To change your registered email address, please follow these steps:

  • Go to your “Settings” via the following link: https://www.etoro.com/settings
  • Select the ‘Account’ option
  • Click ‘Change’ next to the Email field in the ‘Credentials’ tab
  • Type your eToro password and click ‘Continue’
  • Enter the verification code sent to your mobile phone and click ‘Continue.’
  • Type your new email address and click ‘Done’

3. How to change the registered phone number

To change your registered phone number, please follow these steps:

  • Go to your “Settings”
  • Select the ‘Account’ option
  • Next to your phone number, click ‘CHANGE.’
  • If prompted, type your eToro password and click ‘Continue.’
  • If prompted, enter the verification code sent to your current phone number and click ‘Verify.’
  • Enter the verification code sent to your email address and click ‘Continue.’
  • Type in your new phone number and click ‘Done’
  • Enter the verification code sent to your new phone number and click ‘Continue.’

4. How to change the password

To change your password, please follow the instructions below:

  • Go to your “Settings”
  • Select the ‘Account’ option
  • Click ‘Change’ next to the Password field in the ‘credentials’ tab
  • Enter all the requested details and click ‘Submit.’

5. How to change Experience and Objectives

To change your Experience and Objectives, please follow the instructions below:

  • Go to your “Settings”
  • Select the Username.
  • Click “Experience and Objectives” in the profile.
  • Back and change the information entered.

You can change your eToro account information with just the above simple steps. Remember username is information you cannot change. Therefore, when opening an account, please consider this information carefully.
