Verification is a mandatory part of registering for the eToro platform. This article will list the documents used to verify the account, including identity verification and address verification.

Preparing the correct documents in the first place will help the account verify quickly and without errors. Only after you provide eToro with both documents will your verification process begin.

1. Proof of Identity

Acceptable documents

  • Passport
  • Government-issued ID

A passport is the preferred proof of identity, as it is the document that will be the quickest for the eToro team to process.

Documents must contain the following elements

  • Color portrait photo
  • Your full name, and date of birth
  • Country of issue and issue date. If it has an expiry date, that should be visible as well.
  • Passport/ID number and MRZ number

2. Proof of address

Acceptable documents

Internet bill, Television services bill, or Phone billHouse Rental Official Agreement – Issued by Government

eToro only accepts the above documents for address verification. Do not try to download documents of different types. eToro will not approve.

Documents must contain the following elements

  • Your full name
  • Current home address
  • Issuing institution / Logo
  • Issue date (less than 3 months for utility bill)

Request with account verification documents

Papers must be intact with all four corners, not torn or patched.

The information is displayed clearly, not blurred.

If the document is double-sided, and there’s relevant information on the backside, make sure to upload that as well.

Photographs of documents can be used, paperless directly if verified on a computer.
