The “New order” button is disabled. Why?

If you want to start trading on the trading platform but the Place New Order button is disabled, the cause can be one of two cases:
- You are not logged in
- You have logged in with incorrect credentials
You are not logged in
If you are not logged in to your trading account, the New Order button will be disabled and you will not be able to place orders.
To sign in, please:
- Go to File > Login to Trade Account
- Enter your trading account ID, password, and the server. You can view the trading account number and server in the Account Information section in the Members Area.
- Click Login.
Once logged in, you will be able to click the Open New Order button and place your order. Alternatively, you can also double-click on any symbol in the price list window to place a trade order.
You have logged in with incorrect credentials
The situation is somewhat complicated but we are here to help. If you log in with your investor password or read-only access password, you will be able to view real-time trading data, but not execute trades.
You can quickly confirm this situation by looking at the “Journal” in the trading terminal and looking for an entry that says “trading has been disabled – investor mode”.

How to change the XM MT4 account password
From the MetaTrader 4 platform, the user can directly change the password of the trading account as follows:
Step 1: Log in to the MT4 platform, click Tools -> Options. In the Server tab, click Change.
Step 2: Then, enter your current password and click “Change master password”.
Step 3: Enter the new password for the account and press the “OK” button to confirm.
